EQ - Electric Intelligence.The new brand for electric mobility

The future is electric and intelligent. Intelligent electric mobility - this is what the new Mercedes-Benz EQ product brand stands for. An attractive design, exceptional driving fun, high levels of suitability for everyday use and maximum safety are further attributes. EQ represents the two Mercedes-Benz brand values of "emotion and intelligence" and comprises all significant aspects of customer-oriented electric mobility.

At the same time, EQ offers a comprehensive electromotive ecosystem of products, services, technologies and innovations. The spectrum ranges from electric vehicles and wallboxes to charging services and home energy storage units.

The E-Mobility model generation

The forerunner of the new brand is the close-to-production study Concept EQ. This study provides an advanced view of a cross-model electric vehicle architecture for battery-driven vehicles.

The new generation of electric vehicles is based on an architecture developed specifically for battery-electric models, which can be scaled in every regard and deployed across all models: Thanks to a modular system, the wheelbase and track width as well as all other system components, in particular the batteries, are fully variable. The vehicle concept is therefore optimized for all requirements of a future-oriented battery-electric model family. The underlying architecture is suitable for SUVs, sedans, coupes, convertibles and other series of models.

The first EQ series production model in the SUV segment will be launched in this decade. The portfolio of Mercedes-Benz Cars will be successively supplemented by other electrified models.

The coming models embody the essence of modern electric mobility – the combination of attractive design, exceptional driving fun, high levels of suitability for everyday use and maximum safety.

The EQ portfolio comprises all future battery-powered automobiles as well as the associated products and services from Mercedes-Benz. The ever-expanding portfolio therefore guarantees simple and transparent orientation for customers. The EQ brand is therefore the next logical step as part of the "Best Customer Experience" sales and marketing strategy.

New vehicle architecture and its own design language

With the study "Concept EQ", Mercedes-Benz presents an electric car with the look of a sporty SUV coupe. The dynamic exterior design with new electro-aesthetics underlines the focus on the powerful electric drive: Two electric motors whose system performance can be increased to up to 300 kW thanks to scalable battery components and permanent all-wheel drive ensure high driving dynamics. With a range of up to 500 kilometers as well as the typical Mercedes-Benz strengths in terms of safety, comfort, functionality and connectivity, "Concept EQ" fulfills all the requirements expected from modern, sustainable mobility.

The inside of the vehicle also offers innovative solutions, including a completely new interior concept.

SUV genes with coupe character

The basic shape of the "Concept EQ" combines SUV genes with a dynamic character of a coupe. The rear displays shooting-brake features.
For the new electro-aesthetics, the flowing transition from the glossy black hood, via the windshield to the dark tinted panoramic roof provides a contrast to the Alubeam silver paint. The silhouette is characterized by almost imperceptible body joints, concealed windscreen wipers, cameras instead of outside mirrors and the absence of standard door handles.

Interior: Avant-garde and functional.

In the cockpit the focus is on uncomplicated, touch-based operation. The instrument panel with the large, floating widescreen display is tailored to the driver through its asymmetrical design.
The interior of the "Concept EQ" combines emotionality with intelligence and user-friendliness. With the exception of the typical Mercedes-Benz electric seat adjustment, there are no classical switches or knobs. The center console framed in rose-gold appears to float: The console does not require any mechanical control elements and is equipped with touch-sensitive elements.
